The drive through Buckhannon is a little more colorful now thanks to a West Virginia artist.
Art 26201 unveiled the second piece in their Art in Public Places program on the side of the C.J. Maggie’s building on Thursday night.
“Cock a Doodle Dude” was painted by West Virginia artist Ginger Danz.
Along with the unveiling there was also a reception and display of Danz’s other work for those who attended.
“It’s really kind of surreal,” said artist Ginger Danz. “this is a fantastic crowd that’s come out to support it and people are telling me it makes them smile when they see it. I really can’t think of a better use of my art.”
“How many small towns get to do this on a regular basis?”, said architect Bryson VanNostrand with Art 26201. “We really want to be talking about art everyday here in the community.”
Art 26201 now begins planning for its next public art installation to hopefully take place this summer.
